Crown Care

Crown Care Instruction

Thank you for purchasing a Trinity Belle Crown. To keep your Crown in optimum condition we recommend that you follow the simple hair care instructions below.

Before washing your Crown

Use a paddle brush to gently detangle it. Avoid using standard brushes. Always brush hair from bottom to top, to avoid shedding and matting.

Washing/Conditioning

Soak your Crown in a mixture of mild shampoo and conditioner, preferably Trinity Belle products, use warm water only. Soak it gently in the sink as if you were washing a delicate Shirt. Do not rub your Crown when washing, and always let the hair and water flow in a downward direction to prevent matting. Work shampoo/conditioner through the hair from top to bottom. Rinse with warm water. Gently blot hair with a towel. Do not twist or wring it out. Comb wet hair from the bottom to top using gentle downward strokes, one section at a time. Never begin combing at the top or middle.

Drying

Crowns can be roller-set, air dried, or placed under a hooded dryer. To restyle your Crown, you may use a blow dryer, curling iron, flat iron, or rollers.

Styling your Crown

Always use a wide tooth comb or afro pick for curly styles and a wire paddle brush for straight styles. Avoid using standard brushes. When brushing, start at the ends and gently work your way to the roots.

For wash and go styles for Curly Crowns and Afro Crowns put water and leave in conditioner in a spray bottle. Mix them together and spray it on the areas that feel dry to activate your curls. To completely restyle your Crown, we suggest taking it to us, as a part of our Drop Off Service where we will wash and restyle it. If you decide to do it yourself, please follow these guidelines below:

Place your Crown on a proper stand to support it. Please keep in mind that your Crown is versatile and many styles can be created. A light leave-in is always great to add moisture to the Hair and a hair spray is optimal for a longer lasting hold. Longer Crowns can be roller set and placed under a hooded dryer for a fuller, bouncy look. When using heat apply a heat protector and make sure to circulate the heat evenly and continuously. Please keep in mind that your Crowns are made of human hair and require as much work as your natural hair.
